Chemical Peel - Nashville Aesthetics

Chemical peels are a highly effective way of improving skin imperfections. We offer two separate brands: Allergan’s SkinMedica Peels and The Perfect Derma Peel.

SkinMedica Peels include Illuminize and Vitalize. These peels target damaged skin differently depending on the degree of skin imperfections needing to be corrected.

This minimally invasive treatment is administered by first cleansing the skin. A topical combination of chemicals is then applied to the skin. The stronger peels contain a retinol liquid that is applied on top of the chemical mixture. Lastly, SPF is used, and the chemical peel process is complete. The downtime associated with chemical peel administration is generally 1-10 days. On the first day, patients can expect to experience some degree of redness and tightness in the face. The retinol liquid in the stronger peels may cause an orange tinge to the skin that will resolve within the first few hours. The lighter peel that helps to lighten and brighten the skin may cause some flaking around days 2-4. Make-up should be avoided for the first day and while experiencing any skin peeling. The facial skin will continue to improve over the first week, correcting skin imperfections in the dermis. This is an excellent option for individuals who want to achieve light and brighter skin without surgery.
